Central location with the choice eating in the bar or in the restaurant

We were accommodated in an attic room which was very small. we had difficulty in getting into the Shower room which was unheated.Access was by corridors and stairs which varied from very cold to lukewarm. We certainly would not go there again.

Linen clean most of room clean free carpark

Very poor decor , dirty looking wallpaper in bed room , vinyl faux wood panelling in dining room bath only, no shower in room, this is not on at £75 per night dust on the cornices old carpets peeling paintwork in room poor lighting in bed room and elsewhere lots of visible loose wires in bedroom break fast choices poor. Paintwork elsewhere dirty

        The breakfast was good.

Tiny double room(24) and tiny bathroom which needs redecorated, like the rest of the hotel.

        the location.

the family room was spacious, unfortunatly the laundry room must have been below it as all night i could hear a dryer switch on and off. There was no shower , which really is no use for a family unless there is a never ending supply of hot water for several baths. the whole place could be doing with an upgrade. I thought it was overpriced for what it was.

The band on Saturday night complete surprise didnt know they were playing. No one mentioned them

We were not told what time breakfast was so we missed it after paying for it. Breakfast time nd checkout time way to early

The main thing was it was nice and quiet. I liked the fact that there was no noisy fridge in the room. Having a bath was great. The breakfast was very good. Love the grapefruit juice and marmilade as they were not too sweet. The eggs were very good also. The staff at breakfast were efficient and friendly. The price was good and within my budget. I like deals. It would be good if they had a dinner and breakfast deal for single stays as well as couples. Keeping the price reasonable is one of the most important things for me as I am lower income.

The dinning room was not heated and it was too cold a few times. My room only had a bath which was great but a shower over the bath would have been good. If I had to choice between the two I would choose to have a bath.

Very poor room (nothing like photos which looked excellent), electric heating didn't work, single bed that had a 20cm (9") gap between the end of the bed and headboard - had to fill gap with clothes to put pillows against the headboard in order to read. Entire room looked as if it had been done in the 1950's and not updated since. Poor window and thin curtain so we had noise from outside until 1.30am. Stains on breakfast tablecloth. On internet advert a note of special diet menus available on request - we made the request together with a request for a menu on the booking sheet but received no e-mail reply and the member of staff at breakfast had no idea of any request or the other options. Breakfast - bacon, sausage and bread were acceptable quality - fried bread was fat soaked. We ended by thinking of it as 'Fawlty Towers' and simply laughing it off rather than stressing over the poor standards.

Great location near Tay Forest for weekends away and outdoor activities.

Pets were given a £10 charge, most hotels are free. Food menu was quite basic

      • Older travelers

Location was excellent - lovely town centre.

Breakfast was very disappointing, advertised as full scottish breakfast, but a very small plate of very standard cooked breakfast, 1 slice bacon, 1 egg etc.

      • Older travelers
        3.8

The room was so small you had to turn sideways to get past the furniture and kept tripping on bedcovers trying to get round the corner of the bed. NOT GOOD when one person has had a stroke and has mobility problems and the other arthritis in knees. The bathroom was a joke! You could not swing the proverbial cat in it much less try to dry yourself after a bath - even if you could have had one (which we can not) The flooring was curling up at the edges and was really disgusting. As for the bed we have both had to attend the chiropractic doctor yesterday to try and releive the back pain. I do not like complaining but this hotel really spoiled our last night of a touring holiday. We had spent other nights in hotels that were just as old but with super rooms and modern bathrooms and this one really put a dampener on our holiday

      • Couple
        7.4

Very friendly & helpfull staff, we had a nice evening in the pool bar with the locals & had late night "cheesy chips" from the local chippy. All in all a reasonable nights sleep in a reasonable B & B room.

A very good Full Breakfast was tainted by the use of the cheapest sausage available. Tasted like the supermarket "value" range. Such a shame as the rest of it was really nice and tasty.

      • Group of friends
        6.6

Good towels and bed linen. Plenty of hot water. Staff, both local and E European were very friendly.

The place is a bit tired and could do with a significant capital injection. There is an unfortunate smell of kitchen fat on the ground floor. A pretty limited menu seems aimed at OAP coach parties.

      • Family with children
        9.6

the staff were great, they upgraded our room free of charge so our 3 year old would have more room, very friendly and clean

The only 'bad' thing was that it is very dated, but we just thought this was quaint!

      • Older travelers
        4.2

The Staff are friendly and helpful

The public areas are very cold. Bedroom and bathroom small, poorly decorated, mattress lumpy ,carpet looked and felt that it had not been cleaned in years. Kettle in room dirty. Breakfast poor.

      • Older travelers
        5.8

Very early breakfast and small window if half an hour.
